Three years ago today I asked this girl to marry me. She thought I was going to be tied up all day leading at a 24 hour worship/prayer event. Little did she know that I was actually spending my day in airplanes and awkward Uber rides to show up at her door that night with flowers and a ring in hand. Life has never been the same. Thanks for loving me and giving me my first real sense of what home is as an adult. I’d spend my everyday in planes just to propose to you everyday if it’s what you want. I love you.

Today we celebrate the life and legacy of the man who owned this bible. The man who lived his life aligned to this text. The man who led his family in the way they should go. I’m honored to live in such a strong, powerful, gracious lineage.

We’ve been driving since 3AM. Funerals are the worst reason for travel but I’m excited to see some family and for my wife to meet them.

There will literally never be another man like you. I pray to God that I can be the smallest fraction of the man you were.
