There’s something missing. There’s something that every single person in the world longs for. Something that we all desperately need: community.
We all want to belong. We all want to fit in. We all want to be sincerely loved and cared for.
Where has this sense of community gone? I’ve read and heard so many stories of community from back in the 70s and 80s. There was this almost magical sense of belonging and fulfillment.
We as the modern/ post modern church have lost this. There’s a generation out there, my generation, that longing for that community. For that Koinonia that the early church had. We’re tired of the superficial flashy church. We want so badly to truly commune with each other!
All the while there’s a generation that knows what that community feels like. What it feels like to truly do life together.
Older generation: show us!
Younger generation: humble yourself and learn!
I believe that if are going to see the fulfillment of what God has shown us that he wants to do, it has to be centered in community.
We have got to stop just doing church with each other. We have to be invested in lives. Even in the lives of the “unsaved.” Community is the key to unlock destiny. Community is the key to unleash the kingdom of God!
Koinonia. Live it out. Together.
